What? You Say I Have GAS?

5000maskWell not sure but I believe the test will show positive. Allison was diagnosed positive and it looks like my test results will come back positive as well. I am not talking about post Thanksgiving dinner results either. Specifically I am referring to Group A Streptococcus bacterium or GAS. It seems I am catching just about everything around and until I get well cannot even get a influenza vaccine this year and the way things have been going I need one. I cannot wait to see my infectiologist in Dec to tell him the latest news.

The Glue Factory

glueI am thinking about applying at Ellsworth Adhesives "The Glue Factory" to see if they are hiring. I would make a great speciality glue. Yes its another trip to the Dr for me and tonight my fever is starting to climb. I have never been this sick in my life and its getting old having some kind of relapse every single month. To top everything off its Thanksgiving so if I get worse its a trip to the ER. What a way to end my week off. Its been quiet week and Kelli had a chance to spend some time together while the kids were in school.

Its sad to think I am looking forward to going an entire month without getting ill again. Some would probably say I should be put out to pasture but being ill who would take me? Now back to that glue factory....I am thinking of a speciality glue used in pressure situations. Thoughts?

Thanks George Sampsof

Thank you George Sampsof for what you have given us - yes its Thanksgiving so lets be thankful. Who is George Sampsof? Well he is the inventor of US patent 476,416 of course. Everyone should know George and thank him every day. His invention back in 1892 was for the clothes-drier and I am thanking him this week as I had the great honor to work on a newer model of his invention. Yes our clothes dryer stopped removing the moisture from the clothes and the world almost stopped. A trip to the local appliance parts store I was to procure a new heating element and prevent the earth from near end. Whew!

PartSelectLogoI found working on appliances to be a little easier with heating_element_dryerInternet sites like  PartSelect.com.  They have pictures of the parts and diagrams showing how everything hooks up. Very nice.

Thanks George for you contribution

Its Turkey Time

Today we had our friends over for a Thanksgiving feast and to watch a little football. I decided to try something new this year and that was to fry a turkey. There are so many warnings around heating such a large amount of oil. Oh well you know me jump right in head first....

Houston_Texans

cowboysOK first lets talk football. Overall it was a good day. We watched the Texans, Cowboys and Steelers. Yes a rather odd grouping but it is what it is. Hometown team the Texans pulled a victory over the Saints while my favorite the Cowboys had some fun with long time rival Redskins. pittsburghsteelersRomo to T.O. seemed like a good thing today with 4 touchdowns. Unfortunately the Steelers could not hold on during OT and lost. The Steelers are a better team than the Jets so this is a big surprise. This was the Jets second win all season. It was rather noisy in the house and I took some jabs for wearing my Roy Williams jersey from the Texans fans not to mention Kelli who was wearing her Steelers jersey. Seems I am alone around here in supporting Americas Team. Anyway two rooms with both TV's going with different games.

Now lets talk some turkey. It started with our recent trip to the new HEB where they were  running a special on turkeys (10lb turkey free). I picked out a nice big (17lb) turkey to feed the crowd and thought lets try frying this thing. Kelli bought some Cajun Butter injection juice and I pulled out the equipment. Having never done this before I was a little concerned with the hot oil giving me the volcano treatment during transfer into pot. I rigged up a pulley system from the rim of the kids portable basketball goal. Worked like a charm being able to slowly lower the turkey into the pot. Yes I took more than my fair share if ribbing about my hookup but hey safety first right? After cooking for 55 minutes it was time to pull Tom from the pot and let cool before bringing into the house. Checked the internal temp and found it to be 180 degrees. Perfect! Overall it was a tasty bird. Very juicy. Next time I will go a little easier on the injection though. Following the instructions it seemed to have a slightly stronger taste than I would have preferred.

Volvo 4 Life Part2

volvo_s60_awd Just got the car out of the shop where they replace the CCM (Climate Control Module) and replaced the front spring support which became separated. This thing has so many computers in it. The CCM also had to be reprogrammed as well which carries its own price tag. Nice!volvo4life

OK the bill you ask? Three days in the shop and nearly $1200 price tag.

Gotta luv this car. I have to admit it drives and handles very well but obviously that comes with a price$$$$

Halloween 2007

IMG_7928 A good time for all this year. Allison made out well with the candy and seemed to have a good time. Before the night began a quick trip to a local carnival for some face painting from Ciara. IMG_7932
