Alli has lettered

Well she was more excited about Spencer's letter jacket than he was. Spencer lettered in both choir and football. Hopefully she will let him wear it by the time the weather cools down.

First day of school

Staying with our tradition Kelli took pictures of Spencer and Alli on their first day of school. Spencer a senior and Allison starting first grade. I wonder who is more excited!

Three Amigos

Andrew, Everett and Ian having dinner together before college starts. Andrew and Ian first met in pre-school. Its hard to believe these boys have grown up and going to college.

Best of luck to you boys....Oh and you still have to beat me at fantasy football...

Last hurrah - Summer is almost over

The summer is almost over and a quick trip to the beach was in store. After driving 16/17 hours from Colorado and getting about 4 hours sleep Spencer and I drove to the beach to meet Kelli who had rented a beach house.

A final hurrah for Spencer who spent some time boogie boarding with Ciara.

Camping 2007

Spencer and I traveled to New Mexico and Colorado in August. We started with a trip to Carlsbad NM where we stayed in the Comfort Inn. I might add this was not the nicest place we have ever stayed. A trip to Walmart to purchase Lysol and Febreeze help the smell somewhat.

We explored the cave in Slaughter Canyon. Quote from advertisement "tours of Slaughter Canyon Cave take you into an underground wilderness without electricity, paved walkways, or modern conveniences. In this wild cave, darkness is broken only by the flashlights and headlamps of rangers and tour members. Highlights of the two hour, 1.25 mile tour are the 89-foot high Monarch, one of the world’s tallest columns; the sparkling, crystal-decorated Christmas Tree column; and the Chinese Wall, a delicate, ankle-high rimstone dam. Old bat guano mining excavations attest to the human history and impact in the cave.". The trip was an experience to say the least. Our first attempt to climb the mountain ended with a bolt of lightening and we changed direction back down. After the storm we headed back up the mountain and went into the cave.

We then proceeded to northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. It was amazing sitting in the tent and watching the sides expand and contract with the wind. The lightening storm was wild and feeling the thunder vibrating the ground was some I will remember. The next morning we woke with water in the tent and my sleeping back wet. Oh well it was an experience.

Retirement Party

The planning is over and its time to celebrate. Look at our photo gallery for more pictures from the party.

Welcome

Well its been a while since giving our web site a new look and feel. I am always looking for an easier way to manage the site with time not being on my side. Well enough time has passed that I am now moving toward more of a blog style web site. I will be using Windows Live Writer which is as simple as using a word processing program (I hope at least).

Welcome to the new format.
